After the polar vortex a few weeks ago, who wouldn’t want to escape to the Florida sunshine! Our traveling circus did just that right after Thanksgiving. After the freezing temperatures of Northern Indiana, the Florida sunshine was just what we needed to warm up our cold bones lol!
The suite had a living room (complete with sofa bed), full kitchen, 2 bedrooms (each bedroom had 2 queen beds) and 2 full bathrooms. The rooms were all spacious so we didn’t feel like we were right on top of each other the whole time. The beds were so comfy, I don’t think I’ve slept that good in a long, long time. Of course my kids were more excited about watching the giant flat screen TV’s instead of sleeping. Boo!
The buffet was a smorgasbord of indulgence. Everywhere you turn, there was a yummy treat! Mickey shaped waffles, chocolate and cream cheese muffins, biscuits and gravy, and so much more! The food was all good and the dining room service was top notch. The dining room is huge, but it fills up quickly, we learned the earlier you go, the better. Of course you can always just take you food back to your room and eat there.
We spent our first day at Disneyworld, Residence Inn provides complimentary shuttle service to Epcot. From Epcot you can catch the monorail right to the Magic Kingdom. It was great not having to worry about parking. The shuttles run every 30 minutes and start 1 hour before park opening and go until 1 hour after park closing.
The next day was just spent relaxing at the hotel. The weather was beautiful so we spent most of the day at the heated outdoor pool. The pool was the perfect temperature and there were plenty of lounge chairs for me to just relax and read while the kids (and hubby!) played in the water. There was also a cold plunge pool and a hot tub.
After the time at the pool, my older kids and husband checked out the game room while I cooked dinner. The game room was small but fun. It had a couple boat racing games, an air hockey table, a shooting game and of course “The Claw”. I don’t know who had more fun, my husband or the kids lol!
We spent our last night all cozied up in one of the rooms watching Christmas shows. It was the perfect end to a perfect couple of days; just what my family needed to decompress and gear up for the holiday craziness that was coming.
We were sad to leave the next day, but we look forward to coming back next time we need a break from the insane asylum that we call our life.
Thanks Residence Inn for a fantastic stay!
