I was so excited when I stumbled across a bag of Christmas themed pretzels at my local Sam’s club the other day. I immediately knew that something glorious must come from this discovery, I couldn’t simply just put them in a bowl, they needed something more, something that really made them stand out. That’s when I decided to smother them with chocolate, everything is better smothered in chocolate, right?
When I got home, I grabbed my trusty candy melting pot, some white chocolate melts and some Christmas sprinkles and set to work and giving these pretzels a little extra holiday zing.
I love the result and they make a great gift too!
Here are the uber easy instructions:
Holiday themed pretzels (I found mine at Sam’s club, but you can order them from Amazon here)
Candy melting pot, double boiler or microwave safe bowl
Melt the chocolate in your bowl of choice. Quick side note here, I love to use the melting pot especially if I’m making something with my kids, it doesn’t get hot to the touch, evenly heats and maintains the chocolate at a temperature that is easy to work with, but is not scalding if little hands were to accidentally touch the melted chocolate.
Drop the pretzel in the chocolate and cover completely, using a fork, fish the pretzel out of the chocolate and tap gently on the side to remove excess chocolate. Place pretzel on parchment paper and immediately apply sprinkles. Pretzels will set at room temperature in about 10 minutes, you can hurry the process along and stick them in the freezer for a minute if your family just can’t wait to eat these delicious treats!
Hope you enjoy them as much as we did!
