Full Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Acorn Influence for Kimberly Clark. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A couple weeks ago I vented my frustrations with light bladder leakage in a letter to my bladder. While the letter was funny and lighthearted, the struggle is real and quite frankly, annoying.

Did you know that urinary incontinence is incredibly common in women, in fact more than 45% of women in America. That means that almost half the women in this country have to worry about leakage when they sneeze, laugh or exercise. Ugh. The causes are just as numerous as the women affected. One of the most common cause of LBL is pregnancy or childbirth.

We all know how traumatizing childbirth is to our lady bits and that includes our bladder. The stress of pregnancy and childbirth leave your bladder weak and tired and unfortunately it doesn’t always recover quickly. The more children you have the more beat up your bladders gets. Fortunately there are some ways that you can whip your bladder back into shape:

  1. Kegels – Yeah, I know, it’s a bad word in my house too. But the fact is that kegel exercises are the number one way to reduce bladder leakage and they can be done anytime, anywhere. To find out how to kegel properly, click here.
  2. Change your diet – alcohol, caffeine, artificial sweeteners and carbonated beverages are all culprits that increase your risk for LBL
  3. Increase your fiber – LBL can sometimes be aggravated by constipation, so keep things moving regularly with the addition of some fiber in your diet.

Training your bladder to behave properly can take some time. In the meantime, poise liners can help avoid the embarrassment of LBL with their line of absorbent products designed to help you live your life without light bladder leakage getting in the way. Don’t make your period pads do double duty. Poise liners (found at your local Walmart) are designed for bladder leakage with their super absorbent material (SAM) they are 3x more absorbent than your period pads. If you suffer from LBL you need these in your life!

Now for the giveaway! WOOT, WOOT!
