If your child or children struggle with daydreaming, getting antsy during their schoolwork or emotional outbursts when it’s time to focus, then Ultimate Guide to Brain Breaks is the book for you!
About the author:
Heather Haupt was a very active child, and her mom utilized all kinds of movement to help her learn better. Growing up, she was fascinated by the brain-body connection. She spent time in a neurophysiology research lab at ASU and taught preschoolers all the way up to college students. During this time she has continued to explore the connection of movement and learning.
Now as a homeschool mother of four, Heather regularly applies her research to help maximize learning, retention, and focus.
About the book:
Ultimate Guide to Brain Breaks is a well researched ebook that explains why movement matters for helping a child focus during learning time. It contains 60 Brain Breaks and helps you learn the signs of when your child (or even you!) need a movement break. If your child struggles to focus during school or homework time, then I would highly suggest grabbing a copy of this book.
We have actually incorporated something similar into our homeschool for awhile. We called it “The 30 second dance party”. When it looks like my kids are glazing over and ready to fall asleep in their school books, or when they start to complain that it’s just too hard, I will put on some music and we dance like maniacs for 30 seconds. It works wonders, they have always loved it and it has really helped them regroup and get through the rest of the lesson.
In Ultimate Guide to Brain Breaks the author, Heather Haupt, explains to you the science behind why movement breaks are important to your child’s school day. Her science is sound and very easy to understand. The ebook is short, but packed with great information about helping your child stay focused in any school task.
She goes through some of the movements that she uses and includes pictures so you can really get how the movement is done. At the end of the book are colorful Brain Break cards that you can print and laminate to use over and over.
We used some of the cards and also improvised a little on our own 🙂
This is a fantastic tool to help your kids stay motivated and focused throughout the day. Definitely a must have for any home educator or parent struggling with antsy kids.
