Scrap Paper Projects – Hearts

If you are anything like us, you have an abundance of scrap paper left over from various projects. I can’t bear to throw away fairly large pieces of paper, so they go into boxes that clutter up my house, so I’m on a mission to find a way to use these scraps for fun and decorative projects for the kids. Our first project has a Valentine’s Day theme. We decided to make hearts and frame them to hang in the girls room.

First thing I did was to cut a heart out of the center of a piece of colored paper at least 8 x 10

Then dig through all your scraps to find coordinating colors (or not coordinating if you are a true rebel) cut your scraps into smaller scraps and glue to the center of an 8 x 10 sheet of paper.

Wait for the paper to dry, then place your heart over the center of the paper and then frame it for a beautiful masterpiece that your kids will adore and looks good too!

Love the mashup of colors and papers in these hearts. They look great framed. Visiting via "FamilyFunFriday" linkup from over at www.ritewhileucan.com where I get giddy over all things paper and the lost art of letter writing.

I love pink so I love it! Looks like the kids enjoy the activity too. And oh, this reminds me that Valentine's Day is here.

This is so cute! You could do this with so many shapes and have something for each holiday. Great idea!

These are really cute, and I bet that they could just as easily be done with all of those awkward scraps of fabric that I have laying around!

Wow, this is really adorable and looks super easy. I always love doing crafts with the nieces so I'll have to save this and do it with them sometime!
