Can I confess something here? I hate to vacuum, I absolutely LOATHE the whole process. Maybe, it’s because my vacuum is sub-par, to say the least. I don’t think that it even knows what it’s job is. I’m pretty sure that it resents that fact that it didn’t become a cappuccino machine or something equally glamorous and therefore refuses to do any work at all. Going over the same patch of cat hair for hours is not unheard of with this prima donna machine.

When I finally do get her to pick up anything, then I have to deal with the gag inducing job of cleaning the hair off the brushroll….. I just threw up a little bit in my mouth just thinking about it. With 6 girls and 2 fuzzy cats living here, this becomes a disgusting daily job….seriously why isn’t there a vacuum that can do this for me????

Enter the new Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with SuctionSeal®.  Did you see that? Brushroll Clean? As in do it for me so I never have to? Woohoo!

I have been eying this beauty at Walmart since it’s debut a few weeks ago as I contemplated how to break up with my old vacuum… In the end I just decided to give her the old “it’s not me, it’s you speech”, kick her to the curb (literally!) and bring home the new love of my cleaning life.

Isn’t she pretty?!

I have to tell you that I’m LOVING this new vacuum. The only thing that would make it better is if it made me a cup of coffee and then vacuumed the entire house for me. Hey, a girl can dream can’t she?

So why is this vacuum so much better than my other one? Okay let me break this down for you.

SELF-CLEANING BRUSHROLL -REMOVES TANGLES FROM THE BRUSHROLL WITH THE TOUCH OF A BUTTON – Are you kidding me?? Where has this been all my life?

SUCTIONSEAL® TECHNOLOGY – No more vacuuming over the same spot of cat or girl hair for hours only to give up. One pass and the hair is gone. Boom.

HIGH EFFICIENCY ALLERGEN FILTER – with pets, this is a god send! No more nasty dander particles pushed out while vacuuming.

27-FOOT AUTOMATIC CORD REWIND LONG CORD REWINDS FOR QUICK AND EASY STORAGE – This is almost as life changing as the self cleaning brushroll. How in the world did it take so long to come up with a cord that winds itself with the push of a button.

Now, I don’t hate to vacuum. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still holding out for the vacuum that doesn’t require me to get up from my comfy spot on the couch, but until that glorious day, this vacuum will certainly make my life easier!

Okay, so I know I promised you some more cleaning hacks for those of us that hate to clean, so here you go:

Use an old pillowcase to clean fan blades-

You know all that nasty dust that falls from the fan when you clean it? Essentially doubling your work effort? Cut down on the work by putting the fan blade inside a pillowcase, close the end with your hands and wipe the length of the fan blade. The dust is trapped inside the pillow case and you have just cut your cleaning time in half.

Dryer sheet to clean baseboards-

Reuse dryer sheets to clean your baseboards. Not only do they collect dust beautifully, they also help to repel it in the future.

Use an iron and vinegar to get rid of carpet stains-

This is my favorite, because as you can imagine, with a bunch of kids, comes a bunch of stains! Spray stains with a mixture of 2 parts water with 1 part vinegar. Place a damp rag over the spot, then press a hot iron (on the steam setting) directly on the rag for about 30 seconds. Repeat for really stubborn stains.

Put a cotton ball with essential oil in the vacuum bag-

Vacuum smelling a bit stale? Add a cotton ball that has a few drops of your favorite essential oil on it and add it to the bag or dirt catcher. Each time you vacuum you will be rewarded with a pleasing aroma instead of the typical stale dust stink.

So tell me friends, what are your favorite cleaning hacks?

Love your tip about cleaning baseboards. I will have to try that! I seem to have the same hair culprits in my house. I would love to try out this vacuum. #client Andrea Kruse recently posted...Sweet Rose Glitter SoapMy Profile
