My 16 year old and her best friends are the ultimate Avengers fan-girls. They talk about the Avengers non-stop, dress up as their favorite characters for routine trips to the grocery store and even had matching t-shirts made with their favorite characters represented. They are hardcore fans and aren’t ashamed to show their love everywhere they go.
To celebrate the upcoming release of the new Avengers movie MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron, I decided that these girls needed to have an Avengers party to ramp up their excitement for this much anticipated movie. So, I headed to Walmart to stock up on some awesome Avengers decorations, food and party gifts.
The selection of Avengers themed stuff, blew me away. Avengers Doritos, fruit snacks, Dr. Pepper and Cheez-its were all adorned with the girls favorite Avengers characters.
In addition to the themed food I was able to pick up balloons in coordinating avengers colors, posters for to hang above the food and party favor tables. TONS of Avenger themed party gifts including t-shirts, lunch boxes, toys and even chocolate bars. This was going to be an awesome party!
In addition to the snack foods that I picked up, I wanted to also have a food to represent the girls favorite Avengers.
Captain America cupcakes
I used red, blue and white fondant to create the shield.
So easy to make! Just cut cheese into cubes and insert a pretzel to create the handle
Complete with a hulk fist (see the video below to see how to make the fists, it’s so easy!)
Iron Man fruit punch
I used a mix of red fruit punch and yellow to make the perfect Iron Man color.
Black Widow Popcorn
I used black candy melts and red m&m’s to create this yummy treat. You can find the instructions here.
The gifts were the biggest hit of the night! In each Avengers lunch box I included 2 avengers t-shirts and some Avengers chocolate bars. I also gave them an avengers bobble head and the ultimate party gift….Avengers Pez! I kept one of the Pez dispensers for myself, total throwback to my childhood…don’t judge, you know you would have done it too!
While the girls were waiting for it to get dark enough for their movie marathon, they had a lot of fun with the photo booth I set up. I used a blue plastic table cloth and tacked it to the wall then using black and yellow poster board, I cut out building and windows to tack up on the blue table cloth.
The girls helped me create speech bubbles with their favorite quotes from the first Avenger’s movie.
The rest of the night was spent in a 6 hour movie marathon squealing and giggling as they fell in love with Captain America, Iron Man and all their Avengers favorites once again.
Do your kids love the Avengers? Who is their favorite character?
