Colorful Rice Krispy Easter Eggs. Fill with your favorite Easter candy for a special Easter treat!

I absolutely love creating fun Easter treats. Brightly colored goodies make me a little weak in the knees. I remember making these treats in elementary school and filling them with jelly beans and I make them every year with my kids. They are so simple and yummy and the kids love them!

First melt butter and marshmallows in a pot over medium heat stirring constantly

Once everything is nice and melted, add food coloring and stir well

Next add rice krispies and stir again.

Remove from heat and wait for it to cool a bit before handling. Mold into an egg shape. I totally cheated and used a plastic egg as a mold, it worked brilliantly! Make sure to leave a small hole in each side to hide the jelly beans.

Fill with jelly beans and press together.

There you go! Easy peasy and so much fun for the kids to make!

I've never seen Easter eggs made like this before - what a fabulous idea! Although I love chocolate, I find chocolate eggs with chocolate treats in the centre just a bit too much chocolate sometimes. These would be so much better. Cute idea! Just wondering, does the food color come off on your hands when you eat the eggs?
