Are you a morning person? I’m not. Like at all. It is really hard for me and most of my kids to get going anytime before 9:00 am and even then it’s like pulling teeth to get them to start schoolwork, or do their chores, or open their eyes. They seriously drag themselves around like zombies until noon and honestly I’m not any better.

Since I don’t like to drink coffee every morning, I’ve had to come up with other ways to kick-start my mornings in a healthy way that won’t leave me dragging again after lunch.

One of my go to ways to kick sluggish kids (and mom) into gear is with a yummy protein and fruit packed smoothie. I’ve started experimenting more with smoothies and have found a few that the kids love and are packed with good for you ingredients that give the us a natural energy boost without the usual crash.

One of our favorite smoothies is this Sunrise Breakfast Smoothie. Made with vanilla Greek yogurt, frozen strawberries and pineapples and fresh oranges, this smoothie is sure to make mornings go a little “smoother” (see what I did there? Haha!).

    1. You could use white grape juice, we have done that in a pinch and it's just as good. You could also use plain water if you aren't looking to add more calories :)
