Peppermint Ice Cream

Last Christmas I visited an ice cream parlor in New York that served the most amazing peppermint ice cream. I’ve really been craving it since the Christmas season started and unfortunately extensive searches of my local grocery store have turned up bubkis. So, true to Almost Supermom style, I decided to take matters into my own hands and make it myself.

I know what you are thinking? Why in the world would I be craving ice cream in the middle of winter??? Well, it’s peppermint, and we all know that winter is the one time of the year when you can gorge yourself on everything peppermint!

Peppermint ice cream, or any ice cream recipe, is so easy to make at home. Honestly, I prefer the creamy texture of my homemade ice cream recipes to almost anything store bought. If you can’t make it to a truly authentic ice cream shop, then homemade is a close second.

I used to use a legit ice cream machine to make my ice cream recipes, but I got really sick of the churning and then the cleaning. Ugh, so much effort. I’m lazy by nature so I want something easy! Guess what? This ice cream recipe is about as easy as it gets!

This ice cream is definitely going to get some serious action around my house long after the holiday season is over.
