Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves
  • 1 bottle Sauvignon Blanc
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 4 cups summer fruit of juice, I used cantaloupe and seedless watermelon

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water.
  2. Bring to a simmer over low heat then add mint.
  3. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool for 30 minutes.
  5. Strain syrup through mesh sieve.
  6. Chill syrup until ready to use.
  7. In a pitcher combine wine, orange juice, Cointreau and mint syrup.
  8. Add cantaloupe and watermelon chunks and stir well.
  9. Chill at least 30 minutes.
  10. Pour over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaf.
