Maple Bacon Popcorn

Yield: 6 cups
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

Maple Bacon Popcorn is a sweet and savory treat featuring freshly popped popcorn drizzled with a buttery maple syrup mixture and topped with crispy, candied bacon pieces.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of popped popped corn
  • 1 package bacon
  • 1/3 cup + 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup + 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp of butter
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Place bacon on a cooling rack over a foil wrapped baking sheet (one with an edge around it so the grease doesn't spill over)
  3. Brush the maple syrup on the bacon slices
  4. Sprinkle brown sugar over the bacon
  5. Bake for 20 minutes
  6. When down allow to cool for 30 minutes
  7. When bacon has cooled tear it up into small pieces, set aside
  8. Melt butter in a sauce pan over medium heat
  9. Add brown sugar and maple syrup and bring to a boil
  10. Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes
  11. Stir in baking soda
  12. Pour mixture over popcorn, add bacon and stir until evenly coated
